Name: Mantione, Venanzio
Gender:Male
Age:??? His exact age is unknown, although he is over 300 years old. He appears to be in his late twenties, early thirties, by expression.
Former Rank:Captain Level/Head of Research and Anatomy
Former Division:Division Twelve
Height:5''7
Personality: Venanzio has an incredibly wide range of emotions, resulting in a different personality. For starters, Venanzio has multiple personality disorder. His first personality has no name. This is generally the personality that engage(d) in most fights. The name that he has brought upon himself, though, is Nemo. Nemo is the Greek word meaning nothing. Nemo has a very calm and cool collected personality. In his first life, Nemo was the dominating personality. Nemo enjoyed the company of people, often brightening people up with a smile or joke. Nemo had a joke for almost any situation, although when riled, he was one who liked to fight to resolve things. Even amongst his brethren he fought. When he needed to get his job done, he was very serious about it, not using any weapons other than his fists and feet. The personality known as Nemo is barely ever seen, but does suffice from time to time.
Next is Venanzio. Venanzio is the main personality, hence being known as Venanzio as a 'human' after his death & "resurrection". Venanzio is also very calm and cool. He is quite and barely ever speaks his mind. He is very submissive, and only talks when spoken to. He is very caring and romantic, when it comes to women. And doesn't really respond much to men. He barely makes any friends, although is known to show an immense amount of manners. Venanzio is now part of a Ring of organized crime, and acts like a one man mafia. He's always dressed very classically and has a lot of classy. He tips all of those who he believes deserve tips, and disrespects no one without reason. He also doesn't harm anyone without reason. Venanzio is the personality that is usually seen when starting off a fight, or just in a casual conversation with him. Him and Nemo share a common facial appearance, so it is quite hard to distinguish between the two personalities. If you were to understand Venanzio's beliefs and Nemo's beliefs, though, you could definitely tell the difference if you engaged them in a conversation. Venanzio is cool at all times, yet Nemo can get quite hot headed when the time arises
Genji is the most outrageous of all of Venanzio's personalities. He is also the easiest one to tell apart from the rest. Genji's hair is the same shape as Venanzio's, although blue. The one thing that sets them apart is Genji's tenacious attitude. He doesn't take bull from anyone, and usually is the one who starts off the fights. Although, he is also well mannered, and polite. That is one trait that is shared by all three personalities. At the time of the takeover, Venanzio was in control, but instead of completely destroying the hollow within, it melded with his essence and created this third personality. Generally when the Mask is formed, Genji will be the one in control. Ninety percent of the time that a Bankai is released from Venanzio, Genji is the one in control. Eighty percent of the fights, and predicaments with non living souls that happen to involve Venanzio's body, are Genji's doing. Genji is a smooth talker, and easily gets away with things, but does know how to throw down when such an opportunity confronts him.
Each of Venanzio's personality's are unique to themselves, and are quite distinguished if you get to know Venanzio.
Appearance: All of Venanzio's personalities look alike. The only major difference is between Nemo/Venanzio and Genji. Nemo and Venanzio are almost exact replicas of each other. Venanzio and Nemo both where the same fashion clothing, giving up a mobster like appearance. They both wear dress shoes with small buckles adorning them. They also wear black dress pants all the time, even when dressing "casually". They generally wear a white or gray dress shirt, that has a V Neck as the style. The shirt is collared, and is always worn with the V Neck. The V gets down to around the chest area [Right above the nipples]. Over the gray shirt, he wears a sporty Vest. The Vest is either Lavender, Crimson, or Navy in color, always seeming to wear the same kinds of clothing every day. A silky strap decorates the collar of the vest itself, adding a little pizzazz to his clothing.
Venanzio has light gray hair. It's so light it almost appears white, but still is gray. He has a tattoo on his right cheek. The reason for the Tattoo is that he is an underground Organization of Trained Assassins. He is the head of the Fifth Order, resulting in the number "5" being tattooed into his face. The tattoo is generally covered up by his semi long, and flowing hair, which covers most of his face. Venanzio has very light blue eyes, they are almost pale. They appear to look as if frozen over in color, but when he smiled, his face appears lively. He's quite tan in color. Being Italian, and brought up in Italia, his pigmentation was always very strong, and concentrated. He gives off an aura that reveals his intelligence, but also his tranquility and quiet nature. He's moderately tall, and isn't that heavy, as he only weighs 165 pounds. He's toned in structure, not to bulky and not to thin, making him an ordeal assassin for the "Order".
Genji on the other hand has lively teal hair. That is the first thing most people notice about him. Another thing is that he also has blue eyes, but on a more navy scale. He also dresses like a Classic Gentleman. He never found it hard to have and maintain a relationship with women. His skin is more pale than the other two counterparts, although he dresses in a Suit. Almost taking a "butler" like appearance. He wears a semi large top hat, and always has a smirk painted across his face. Over the chest of his suit is a large black block of fabrics that cover his torso, with four buttons, one in each corner. In his collar is a "belt" like material wrapped around his bare neck, with a large ribbon festooned with an opal sits on his neck. He gives off the appearance of a well learned, educated, nobleman that enjoys political matters. Genji also wears gloves, with a ring on his finger with the number "7" labeled on a stone that's placed in the ring. The number "7" represents luck, as Genji is a lucky person when it comes to life. The number 7 is written in Katakana, as is the Tattoo on the side of his cheek.
The Background
History:
Family History:
The Mantione Family
The Mantione Family, the richest, and most powerful Family known to Sicilia. It bore many successful people in everything someone could excel in. They bore many doctors, teachers, archaeologists, scientists, and mobsters. The Mantione's rise to fame was all gained through their heavy roots in the Mafia. Back in the day, everyone of their men were forced to work in the Mafia, until one of their own ruled a Mafia. The power and respect they had was equivalent to no one, and they were seen as gods amongst men, to all other mobsters. They gave respect to those who were credited, and were very polite in front of women.
Their fame was passed through their main house, and to the lively descendant known as Vencentino Mantione. He was the leading Boss in Sicilia, and was a great influence to many of his disciples. He provided a nice house for his family, living in a large Villa. He became such an infulential character that even the ruler of Italia could not jail him for all of his crimes. He himself was above the legal system, and though to be above death, but tragedy befall there household, as they continued to grow in wealth. Vencentino waltzed out his front door, and leisurely took his Chariot for a drive, when he was shot from point blank range with a high powered rifle. The assailant was never caught. Maria Mantione, Ven's wife, was left to tend to the kids, and keep them alive and healthy. This was the beginning of the Mantione Family's tragic decline.
Tragically, their mother sent a letter to her parents, who lived near Kyoto, Japan, and immediately ordered for a boat ticket to her house. They had the money, and the fame, so they had a ship, and took off to Japan, hoping to start over. Maria had connections with the Japanese Government, and was able to change her name and identity. That is when Venanzio was only four years old. She changed the identities of both of her elder kids, but allowed Venanzio to keep his name, since no one at all really knew him.[Due to his age] The three children[Brandon, Ace, and Venanzio] all started in their new school with new identities, living a life under the last name "Nakamura", a common Japanese surname. The children all stayed close, until death, their stories will be revealed individually.
Childhood of a "Savant" As a young boy, Venanzio always enjoyed plucking strings. When he turned 5, his family bought him his very first violin. He never parted from it, he held it as if it were dear life. As he grew, so did his talent for the Violin. Although in grade school, many people made fun of him for being so "feminine". Since most of the boys in the class went on to playing percussion instruments, or wood wind instruments. Venanzio was the only male playing a string instrument. For this, among his classmates he was known as Tsukiakari, lit Moonlight, as they thought him a worshipper of Tsukiyomi. Although, this didn't discourage him one bit, for he got the leading part in many of the musical's put on by the school.
When the boy reached the age of 15, he was able to play the dreaded "Devil's Trill Sonata" on the violin. Not only was he one of the only people who could play it masterfully, he even played it at 1.5 times the original speed of the song, making his picking and bowing skills quite exceptional, at the cost that every time he played the song he bled quite heavily.
Death
Venanzio Mantine had one of the most tragic deaths one could face. It was during a time of great war, where he ended up being smited. He was chosen as one of the complementary musicians, to parade with the troops, in order to show their victory. One day, in one of the final battles of war, Venanzio had managed to play an incredible solo, playing twelve notes per second, astonishing everyone around him, including the Captain Commander of the Militia. As he did so, the Commander called him into his cabin, little did they know, they would enter the next realm together. As he set foot in the Cabin, gun fire went off from all sides. Startled, they huddled behind a bed, before bullets began bombarding their room. Venanzio quickly grabbed the Commander and bolted out of the Cabin, carrying him across his back. He felt his knee give way, as blood began dripping from his caps. as he shattered the knee. He felt to the ground, dropping the Captain, whom made a frantic recovery, bolting, forgetting Venanzio. As he lay there, he slowly bled do death, the colors fading from his eyes, and his will to live growing less and less. Soon, his heart slowed to a nearly deathly pace, before it completely gave way, ending the poor boys life.
After Death
As soon as he left his physical body, all he could remember was seeing a giant hand dragging his brother away from him. Separating them from each other. Venanzio bolted away from his location, but was pulled back, as his Chain of Life, yanked him back to the corner in which he sat in. For the first time in years, Venanzio was afraid. He assumed the fetal position, wishing his mother was here. Mother? Too bad his mother had survived.
In the midst of his streaming tears, he felt the hand of another Soul grasp his shoulder, and yank him on to his feet. By this time, his Chain of Life was nearly fully corroded. The man looked at him with pleasant eyes, and began to console Venanzio. Venanzio, being as inquisitive as ever, asked the man numerous questions, involving his location, his life, and hollows. Together, they lingered for hours on end, as Venanzio never ceased to amaze the Shinigami with his questions.
As their conversation came to an end, the Shinigami began to tell Venanzio about "konso". Intrigued on the whereabouts of the Soul Society, and in fear of the hollows, he agreed shyly, and closed his eyes, clenching his fists, bowing his head, and trembling ferociously. Not knowing what was going on, he slowly lifted his head, only to see the Shinigami's blade being driven into his breast. Within seconds, his body began to evaporate with the water particles that the sun began to consume. He found himself reaching outwards for the Shinigami, but dissipating to quickly to reach his extended limb, he had vanished from the world of the living. He ended up in Rukongai District, Sector 7. He wasn't too far away from the Seireitei, so not many tragedy's or catastrophe's broke out around him. Other than the occasional squabble, nothing really interesting happened as he wandered the Rukongai districts. He had no weapons other than his cane, which he forged out of wood. He used it as a support, since his lower body ached for unknown reasons. The most notable fight that he had engaged in, in his time in the Rukongai, was with a seated member. His name was not known to Venanzio, but he proudly wore his Division's Symbol on his back. The most noticeable features of this one was the three stripes that painted his face. The aura he gave off was fiery, and heated. He seemed like a tenacious being, and as soon as he crossed Ven's path, that was the day that Venanzio decided he wanted to become a Soul Reaper.
The two met at a pathway. Venanzio was minding his own business as the Unnamed Reaper began beating the mess out of one of the Rukongai District Settlers. No matter what had been done, short of murder of course, no one should be beaten that badly. The Soul Reaper continued beating the man, even after he became very unresponsive. Venanzio immediately ran into the beating, and took a couple of lashes before the Soul Reaper stopped to see what was going on. They engaged in a somewhat heated conversation, when the Soul Reaper swung his left arm outwards, scratching Venanzio's cheek, forcing blood to drip from his face. Immediately he began dabbing his face with a cloth that hung from his clothing. Landing on his right arm, as he clenched his staff, he just looked up at the man. The man began demeaning Venanzio, calling him a failure, and a worthless piece of crap. Venanzio's blood began to boil, as he struck the Soul Reaper with his staff. This was the beginning of an epic fight, and one that would end up changing Ven's life.
The Reaper pulled out his Zanpakuto and began slashing at Venanzio. Ven slowly moved his staff upwards, sliding his hand around, making the staff twirl, parrying off a few of the man's hits. The Shinigami continued slashing, hacking, and stabbing, trying to immobilize Ven, but Ven's quickness on his toes allowed him to survive. He ducked, dodged, and trusted the Staff into the Shinigami's stomach. The Shinigami was too focused on killing Ven, that he didn't even feel the butt of the staff jab into his stomach. But he did land a hit on Ven, one that almost ended the poor boy's life. The sword was driven right in between two of Ven's ribs, any higher it would have decimated his heart. ------------------------------------------------------------- As the blade had been sheathed in his chest, Ven immediately threw his arms up, grasping the blade, feeling it slide all the way in. The blade stopped as the guard of the man's blade hit his chest. Blood slowly began to ooze from within him, slipping down like a rivulet, following the slight crevices and creases found in his clothing. His vision began to fade in and out, as his legs trembled. He fell on a single knee, and grasped the dirt. His vision soon became black, as he began tasting dirt. He had soon lost all consciousness.
Two days later, Venanzio woke up with bandages around his chest and head. As his vision refocused he shot upwards, shoving the bed sheets to the side, sliding over the edge of the bed. He doubled over in pain as he grasped his abdomen in pain. Biting his upper lip, he looked out of the room, passed the door, and witnessed a young looking woman slowly walking into his room. He looked up as she was wearing a robe with a Captain's insignia. Slowly, he rose from his bed, and stood straight up, glaring at her. After his encounter with the Soul Reaper, he had a new disdain for Shinigami.
She began to speak to him, and what came from her lips startled Ven a lot. He had expected her to blow fire or something, but her voice was soft and soothing to the soul. He began listening to her words now, as she said something about them being surprised that he survived. The Soul Reaper that had assaulted him had been thrown in jail for his crimes, and was scheduled to be executed for aiding in the death of a fellow Soul Reaper. Ven was relieved, and decided to learn more about the Soul Society. He began asking many random questions, inquiring about the Academy and all. Captain Aya, the lady who had taken care of him, enrolled him in the Academy, and he was to start as soon as he started healing. Ecstatic, he began jumping up and down, slightly opening up his wounds, so Aya forced him back to sleep with some pills. His recovery was swift, but he cannot remember most of what happened while he was in her care because he was knocked out for most of the time.
Shinigami Academy When the boy was fully revived, he enrolled in the Academy, like promised. Although he lacked many of the basic fighting skills, his interest in Anatomy caused him to be brilliant in most of the medical and science based portions of class. His kido and shunpo skills were also incredibly bad. Although, the one thing that kept him near the top of his class was his ability to block and parry swords. No matter what, he never lost a match[doesn't mean he always won], for the sake that his guard was never broken, and when it was broken, the allotted time had been depleted. Even with this, he gained his Zanpakuto quite quickly, and passed the Academy within the matter of 15 years, waiting until he knew all that an Academy Student could know about anatomy, the human body, and medicine.
After Academy As he graduated, he was given the option to choose between two squads. He was allowed to join Squad 4, for his prowess in the area of medicine, but was also given the option to join Squad 12's Research Development. If he joined Squad 12, he wouldn't be a full fledge Shinigami, although he'd be treated in the same way and given the same amount of respect. Since at this point he really didn't like fighting, he chose to stick to Squad 12, and began climbing his way up the ladder. [For some reason, when Venanzio had become a Shinigami, he lost his desire to fight.]
In the Research sector of Squad 12 Venanzio stayed for more than 200 years. In those years, he came up with various medicines and cures, along with finding out a lot of other things about the many organs of the body. He studied the bodies of many races, including captured Quincy's, Hollow's, Human's, Shinigami, and many other Hybrids. He also trained with his sword daily, and acquired his Shikai and Bankai in that time. He owned his fighting style, and was able to fight on par with most captains, although refrained from violence quite often. At the end of his 200 year reign in the Sector as a common scientist, he was promoted to the Head of Research and Development, second only to the Captain. It was even said that in some instances he held more influence in that Sector than the Captain himself. [Note, he had no power over the Squad itself, just the Scientists that worked in corporation to the squad.] With this advancement in position, new troubles began to cloud his memories.
His latest development was something that had been banned from use in the Soul Society. It was the merging of two or more souls, in the similar way one would with a Gigai. Except, the two souls would converge and intertwine becoming part of one another. He was the only test subject that managed to survive. Years before, he had found the soul of his brother, Brandon, who now called himself Genji. Brandon was a blood crazy fiend that appeared to be a Human, but was given many hollow abilities. To save his brother's spirit from eternal damnation and death, he used this invention, believing that his spirit was stronger and would dominate his body. But his calculations were a bit off. When their bodies merged, Genji's soul became a permanent sub sector of his mind, that wanted complete control of his body. Whenever the chance was given to him, he would take over and do the things he'd normally do. But the most mysterious thing was, when they switched personalities[souls], his hair color and facial appearance often switched too. This was quite intriguing to Venanzio, and he became his own daily test subject, allowing no one to know about his condition. In times of mental struggle, Venanzio had a serum that made his other personality quite dormant. But... the personality wasn't the only thing that carried over, it seemed to bring many thoughts of angst and even some hollow powers with it.
Hollowfication One day, he began to fully understand that this merge was not only the mental states of the two beings, but the psychological and emotional state of the two beings. Venanzio's power had been increased, as did his craving to fight. He had many squabbles with some squad members, and even ended up "killing" a few of them. As the days grew longer these pangs for death grew. He began losing his mind, and in every fight that he got in, he began blacking out, allowing Genji to take over. Without the permission of the 13 Court Guard Squads, Venanzio wandered into the world of the living, searching for answers. Their he was faced with a mysterious figure who seemed to know a hell of a lot more about Venanzio than Ven knew about himself.
The figure began to explain to Venanzio why he had been acting so differently. The man spent hours explaining to him what had been going on, and in short wrote a letter telling him what can be done if Venanzio wants to change this.
Excerpt from the Letter: Ah, Venanzio. It's good to know that I can finally reach you whenever I need. As you know, I am the current leader of what I like to call "The Order". But also as you know, I'm one of the only ones who is not technically alive, since I can see you, heh. Anyways, you're a special breed of Shinigami, or at least you became one. What happened is that all the pent up hollows that merged into that Spirit known as "Genji" want a way out. And the only way out is threw your body. Unless you can prove that you are the King, and he your subject, you're going to be left in an eternal war, you resulting as the loser, causing an incredibly powerful hollow to wreak havoc upon many people's lives. Oh, but you yourself do have the power to control it, if you use a special and Ancient method, used by many Vizard's more than 300 years ago. If you accept this as your fate, and wish to turn out the Victor, meet me at my private Palace. Me and a few of my "undead" friends, will help you. But beware, if you do lose, you're going to die..."
As he read this letter, he was already on his way to the Mansion mentioned. When he got there, he met many people with unusual masks on. Masks that resembled the one that so often painted his face. As he spoke with them, his body slowly began to reject their presences. He didn't understand why, but suddenly white particles began to form around his face. He looked down, and saw an elbow jutting out of his gut. As the mask hardened on his face, his eyes glistened a magnificent gold color. The mansion seemed to slip from reality and drag him into another dimension. The fight raged on for nothing more than 12 minutes. The ending blow was a cataclysmic thrust to the forehead with his scepter. Without even releasing his shikai. For some reason, his inner hollow shared the vital points of a regular human, and Venanzio used that to his advantage. Without even really changing, the only hollowfied part of body happened to be his left arm, which separated from his arm, and shattered once it hit the floor. The Mysterious figure welcomed him to "The Order" and he resigned for now. The mysterious figure smiled, nodded his head, and told him that he was always welcome if he were to change his mind.
So then, Venanzio slowly returned to the Soul Society, in control of his powers.
Exile
For 150 more years did Venanzio reside in the Seireitei. He was pardoned of his misdemeanors , by the Head Captain, since he was such a vital asset in their forces. Although, he was on Probation. Sadly, after 150 years of great success and prosperity, although, he was soon exiled for the presence of a being that had apparently been his creation. Someone had gotten a hold of his soul merging machine, and merged a high leveled hollow with a Shinigami. This hollow wreaked so much destruction upon the many buildings of the Seireitei, and desecrated many of the small Rukongai settlements. The blame went straight to Venanzio, being it his machine.
A small court was called in order, and he had the option of death or exile. He knew that if he chose death, Genji would be released, and he may kill a handful of people in the process of his own execution. So, he chose exile, and stumbled back into the world of the living. As he crossed dimensions, he was met with that Mysterious Figure, who welcomed him into "The Order". Venanzio became one of the top ranking officers of this group of vigilantes, and was given a Gigai so he could monitor the spiritual levels of Messina, Sicilia. This was his home base of operations. This was where he monitored the levels of Spiritual Pressure, although the headquarters was in Kyoto, Japan.
