Blade DescriptionSealed Description: The Zanpakuto appears to be concealed in some kind of staff, or cane like object. Due to the age of Genji's physical appearance, this helps him pull of being fragile and weak to others around him. The staff appears to be more on the lines of a royal scepter that a king would hold. At the top of it is a small knob like structure with a blue diamond sitting on top of it. The scepter is about 7.7 inches in circumference. The scepter itself is metallic and silver in color.
Within the scepter is a skinny, yet long and luminous black blade that appears more like a rapier than a katana. It is quite unique for its structure and size. It can easily be re-fitted and removed from its sheath, although generally it stays in its sheath. The metal of the scepter is thick enough to parry hits and barrages from any blade attack, and even some reiatsu based attacks. It has a rounded bottom, so only with enough force could it actually break through the skin.
Shikai Zanpakuto Appearance: In its released state, it appears to represent a Naginata. It's shaft is made out of an unknown alloy, and is about 5 and a half feet long in structure and length. It's about 7.7 inches in circumference. The actual blade is about 2 feet long, making the whole contraption about 7 feet long. It is a quite offensive tool, although it is made for many more purposes than just pure attacking. The blade is shaped like a curved blade with many teeth, and a large open area is placed on the inside. It has two main points, and a curve connecting the points. The front of the blade is smooth, contradicting the back. The front is used for the actual attacking and parrying, and the back is used for resisting, blocking, and keeping blades immobile for long periods of time. The Shikai itself is quite versatile when it comes to blade vs. blade combat. At the very tip of the blade, the words, "A Herald's Tale" is written in Katakana.
One noticeable difference in the blade is that it is a bright gold color. Similar to that of Mayurai's shikai. The shaft is pure black, just like the blade of the sword before it is released. Even though the shaft is black, there are some areas, in which the hand will be placed, that are not black but a teal color. They appear to be made out of a soft leather material, and are strapped down the shaft, in a circular motion. The only way one could tell that the shaft is black, is if they paid close attention to the goof ups in the wrapping of the blade, or if the leather were torn off by an intense attack, or the bolts of lightning that this blade excretes. Another noticeable fact about his shikai is that when it is released, bolts of golden lightning will begin to surround his body. These surges of lightning are incredibly violent, and have a high current, that if a being were to touch it, or stay near it for a long enough time, they'd slowly begin to lose the use of their limbs. [Equivalent to Burning and Ryuujin Jakka, kind of like a Paralysis Affect.]

Shikai Ability: Muchitsujo: This technique is also quite easy to understand. What happens is that as soon as his Shikai is released, another, thicker , layer of reiatsu is formed. It appears like a translucent tint, although appears a little bit gold. Somewhat equivalent to a Super Saiyan, although the aura is definitely much more compressed than that. The aura isn't much of a stat booster, but it still does boost his defense and speed by a good deal. It is quite helpful, as it helps him resist more attacks than when he did if he were not using his Shikai at all. His opponent may notice it, but it isn't surprising if they didn't, because it isn't something someone would notice, unless they paid a lot of attention to the appearance of his Reiatsu, not that seeing it would make much of a difference either. This is where the Paralysis comes into play. Every time that Genji's blade comes in contact with another object that can conduct electricity, volts of electricity are shoved into their body, almost unknowingly. They are given in light doses, although the affect kicks in more and more rapidly. After every three hits, or blocks, or anything that comes in contact with Genji's blade, the opponent will slowly begin to feel their body's muscles restrict, as the energy is applied directly to their spinal cord. Only after hundreds of hits will the opponents body actually completely freeze, but the point is that there movement will be hindered, and once the chance of running is eliminated, pure fighting is the only way to go. His Muchitsugo technique can also be combined with his Shunpo, creating a faster, and defensive version of Shunpo. Any contact made with him in his Shunpo cause molecules to diffuse and cause mild paralysis. He appears to be a beam of lightning when moving, and is nearly invisible to eye, although when he is hit with a technique, the damage done to him is reduced by 1/5.[Purely Passive]
Techniques:Shikai Zanpakuto Abilities: Obviously Raijin Senku's abilities are lightning based. Oddly enough, most of them are passive. Here's the list:
Taisan[Disperse][Shikai]: This technique is very useful, and the last of Raijin Senku's defensive techniques. What happens is that the blade will conjure a field of concentric Heptagon. This field is made entirely of light energy, and all it does is act as a barrier for reiatsu based, and elemental based attacks. If you have played Pokemon, it is similar to the "Protect" technique, or Fox McCloud's blocking ability from super smashed brothers brawl. Physical based attacks can break through this barrier with ease if enough force is applied. Although, when shattered, it will give off the appearance of shattered glass, which can in turn be converted into watts of energy for his more active based attacks. [The point of this attack is to reflect, or divert reiatsu/elemental based attacks.] [Charge 0 Turns, Cool Down 3 Turns.][Can be used 7 times total.]
Hakyokajou[Spiral Catastrophe][Shikai]: This is one of Raijin's only physical techniques[In Shikai Form]. What happens is that gathering Reishi from the air and combining it with his own elemental nature and reiatsu, Genji will move his hands in a rotating motion, gathering volts of energy to be created and collected. Then, he will force it outwards like a catastrophic spiral of lightning, with an uppercut like motion. All in all, it resembles a vortex, or tornado created of pure lightning. If the move before this, Taisan, has been used, the move can be executed at a faster pace, since Genji will not have to actually create bolts of lightning for his attack. The move is quite large, yet very slow. It would be so easy to dodge, speed wise, if you could travel around it in time. It moves at speeds of a Getsuuga like technique, but covers an area of anywhere between 15 - 30 feet. Obviously, the larger it is the slower, and more devestating. Miniature versions of this technique can be executed, so it appears as if numerous balls of electricity are being fired at the foe, but generally it is used to be a larger attack. It is very useful when the foe has been worn down by the physical prowess of Raijin Senku. [Charge 1 Turns, Cool Down 3 Turns.][Can be used 5 times regularly, 6 if he pushes it, totally.]
Raikou[Lightning]: Raikou is the second of Raijin's offensive techniques. This gives Genji the ability to completely manipulate lightning. With this technique, large bolts of lightning can be created, as well as small bolts of lightning. The smaller the volt, the less time it takes to form. He generally refers to himself as "Zeus", just to toy around with his foe, while using this technique. There are three different intensity's and levels of this technique, they will be listed. The trigger for such a technique is the name of the Technique. Saying it's name is generally how the move is started, although, on a rare occasion, sometimes, just the release of his Bankai fires a bolt equivalent to a level two shot. [A Single Bolt]
Level One: Yellow Lightning: Very fast to charge up, about 7 seconds max. They are quite weak, but are fired in barrages, and from multiple directions. Hardest to evade, yet also deal the least damage. [Charge of 1 Turn Cool Down of 1 Turn]
Level Two: Blue Lightning: Medium charge. About 14 seconds. This is the fastest form of lightning, and are fired in rounds of three. No more than three per fire. The three also are lined up next to each other, and are about as long as a yard stick, and hit in the same way a Cero would hit someone. These ones can slightly shock the body, along with hurting the body physically.[Charge 1 Turn, Cool Down of 2 Turns]
Level Three: Red[Heat] Lightning: This is explained to be a power of Raiden, the God of Lightning and Thunder himself. This has the longest charge, peaking at about 30 seconds. A bolt of red lightning is formed, and molded. They are also about the same as a Yardstick, and can also only be fired in shots of one. Each shot is fired at a speed that is quite great. It is faster than a Cero, and hits as hard as a Gran Rey Cero. If the bolt collides with anything, there is a high chance of physical damage[lacerations], incinerations[burns], and shock[paralysis]. Due to the size and damage that is given off by this technique, it often only travels about 20 yards before dissipating, combusting, and exploding. The explosion is quite small and affects a small area. [Charge of 1, Cool Down of 5 Turns.]
Direction of the bolts are controlled by the movement of the users hands. Although, they are initially fired from the lance itself. The user can then manipulate its movement like one would Senbonzakura. Secondly, Genji can only manipulate bolts of lightning that have come from his blade, or come in contact with his blade.The function of this Shikai is mainly to slow down the foe, and then eradicate them once they are barely moving. It is used to wear down an opponent, and kill them over a long period of time. Rarely does Genji ever witness a fast kill, although, it happens sometimes. Genji enjoys the time he spends fighting, as it makes him feel much younger than he is, which is why his Zanpakuto fits him oh so well.
P.S. Something else I forgot to mention, yes it does take three strikes to feel the effect of the paralysis, but those are quick blows. The longer the blows are together, the faster the electricity travels, and the quicker the foe will feel the restricting of their muscles. If someone were to hold on to Genji as he had his Shikai released for more than two minutes, they would be completely paralyzed. And if someone were to hold on for even more than that[or if he held on to them in Shikai form] that person's brain would fry. In Bankai, it takes 2/3 the time, making it quite deadly.
